Developing food-based dietary guidelines in Zambia

Zambia has a strategy in place for food system transformation. To address the need for better nutrition, the government convened all of the stakeholders in the food value chain to develop its food-based dietary guidelines.
In this video, Dr Kampengele Muntanga, Director of the National Food & Nutrition Commission explains the reasons for the successful development of the guidelines.
From the field to the fork, it is one chain and along the way we want people to benefit. We want to go beyond advising the government and come up with strategies for implementation, explains Dr Muntanga.
